Overview
Welcome to our globally-aware, multi-generational extended community of program alumni—this includes students who studied abroad (and sometimes refer to themselves as AFS Returnees), former host family members and families who sent their sons or daughters abroad, people who once volunteered for AFS, and others whose lives have been touched by AFS. Whether you studied abroad or not—you are a member of our AFS alumni community, and this is YOUR international network!

We need you to stay engaged with AFS because the further our reach, the more global citizens we can engage and the more our mission helps to change the world. The world needs globally-aware and competent individuals who can break down the rising barriers between peoples and cultures. AFS Alumni of all kinds living throughout communities in the U.S. play a crucial and active role in sharing with others to expand our reach.
Just Returned?
We can help you with staying connected with your recent experience abroad, dealing with reverse culture shock, preparing for college essays and resumes and more.
Engage
Our alumni are champions of global competence and agents of change. Many have chosen careers in education, international affairs, science and technology, medicine, media, and business and work to make the world more peaceful, sustainable, and interconnected. When our participants become alumni, they can continue to rely on AFS and fellow AFSers to further develop their global skills.
