Early Action Promotion Terms and Conditions
Offer Available 1/21/2020 to 1/31/2020:
$1000 discount on the Program Fee when an applicant pays the $500 Program Deposit anytime between January 21, 2020 at 12:00 AM EST to January 31, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST. This discount is only applicable to Year and Semester High School programs EXCEPT the following programs:
- New Zealand Global Choice Year
- New Zealand Global Choice Semester
- Denmark Folk College (18+)
- College in Germany (18+)
- Teach in Denmark (18+)
The Program Fee discount offer is NOT applicable to Summer and Global Prep programs. We will apply the discount to the Program Fee for applicants that pay the Program Deposit in the eligible timeframe. Please note that the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE except under select conditions. See exceptions for deposit refunds below under Program Deposit.
The discount can only be applied to one program. That program must depart in 2020.
Discounts cannot be applied to purchases or payments made before January 21, 2020 at 12:00 AM EST or after January 31, 2020 at 11:59 PM EST.

What is the Application Fee, Program Deposit, and Program Fee?
Application Fee: $200 fee that is NON-REFUNDABLE and paid after the applicant completes their pre-application or “Get Started” steps. It covers 1-1 support and services provided by Study Abroad Specialists and other AFS-USA staff.
Program Deposit: $500 fee required for the partner country office to review. Please note that the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE, EXCEPT under these conditions:
- If, once the application is share with partner country offices for review, none of the countries indicated on the application or selected by the applicant subsequent to submitting the application agree to accept the applicant.
- If AFS-USA is unable to provide the name and address of the applicant’s host family placement two weeks prior to departure and the applicant decides to withdraw from the program on that basis.
- If AFS should cancel a program prior to the scheduled departure date and not provide an acceptable alternative placement.
